If you love people watching as much as me, then Henley regatta is the place for you to be! Every year since the 26 March 1839 The Regatta has taken place in Henley-on-Thames which is a absolutely beautiful surrounding for the race. The races are very competitive and from the races have come some fabulous stars of our sports scene today including James Cracknell, OBE & Sir Steve Redgrave, CBE.
I have been going along to the races for a good few years following the progress of my nephews and niece who are talented enough to race in the Regatta. This is such a special day for my family and makes me cry every year of how proud I am of them all. This year they were even more impressive than ever and Miles even went on to win for his Fawley A team. This year I was asked along to the races to be a guest at The China White tent which is situated at the beginning of the course so was a perfect position to see the start of my nephews rowing. I have never cheered so much and nearly lost my voice. He was incredible as was his Brother Seb.
If the rowing isn't for you then don't worry as it is the height of the summer to be seen here so pop on your boater and beautiful summer dress and head down to the River. You will see some incredible outfits and super blazers from some of the previous rowers. The whole day is so beautifully organised and really is a day to tick off on your bucket list.
You can even rent out boats so you can parade along the river feeling wonderful whilst drinking Pimms and snacking on some Oysters. There are also some fab sites such as people nearly falling in to the Thames as they may have had a little to much Pimms or Champagne!
The tent we were in with China White was fabulous we had our own V.I.P table which meant as a pregnant lady I had somewhere to sit all day which was perfect. The staff served us all day with delicious treats such as truffle fries, fresh fruit cocktails and even alcoholic ice cream (not for me!) I did not want for anything and just go to be nosey and comment on different peoples outfits, you really do see some incredible outfits and get to take some funny stories home of different things you have seen through the day.
Trying to get in this huge deckchair was not for me this year, being just over seven months pregnant I don't think I would have been able to get back out. I will be sure to be back next year to take that fab pic of me in it. I was worried about going to the Regatta so pregnant but China White looked after us so well, I hardly had to move as they were serving us with amazing soft drinks and food it really was the perfect relaxing day away from Savannah to just chill and watch some amazing rowing whilst in the sun.
The whole day was fabulous from start to finish, getting to dress up and feel glam in lovely outfits with lovely friends, whilst surrounded by fab music and beautiful people what else could a girl want.
