Based on the classic children’s book series by David McKee, Elmer the Elephant celebrated its 30th Birthday last year and so what better way than to celebrate with a stage show of the brilliant novel.
Savannah has never read the book, so I was unsure how it would go down with her. As soon as Savannah and her friends sat down they all were so well behaved and mesmerised by Elmer that I knew it was going t be a fab show. The show takes you on a journey with Elmer the Elephant who feels like she doesn't belong with the other elephants because they are all the same and grey and she is made of patch work and bright colours.
The book and show brilliantly teaches children to just be themselves and to not change for anyone. To not judge and to be happy. The shows colours, songs and humour keeps the children and adults attention and the shows seems to finish so quickly as time really does fly when your having fun.
The show is on tour at the moment as is appropriate for all ages I would say 0-6 years.
