South Place Hotel

As some of you may have seen this super hotel featured in the Bodyguard tv series recently,I thought it would be a fab time to release my blog on this fantastic hotel and let you get to know a little more about it and it's amazing interiors and what it has to offer.

Saturday night in a hotel in town with no toddler did you hear that? I can't believe it, I have managed to book a beautiful hotel with one of my closest friends and all we are going to do is pop on the fluffy white dressing gowns and eat lots of room service whilst watching some bad TV, and I cannot wait! South Place Hotel is the hotel we have chosen to blog about which is situated in the heart of the city of London, a place I hardly go to. The city on the weekend is pretty quiet so I thought let's give it a go and I'm so glad we did.

We arrive at the hotel on Saturday afternoon after a short train journey to London bridge and a 5-minute black cab trip after our Uber let us down about 4 times. The hotel doesn't look anything different from the outside but once you walk through the front door you are hit with the incredible design from the smallest of details, such as the umbrellas to the decor of the reception it really does give you a design buzz. The reception is situated near the bar which gives it a great feel as its so lively and busy which makes it very welcoming. We were greeted by a very handsome Andrea Read-Kontou who we later find out is the General Manager. He honestly cannot do enough for us. He got another member of staff to check us in, he checked our brunch times and other details we would need during the stay. He offered us a drink each which we take up on the offer and we realise we are really going to like it here. He really is an asset to the hotel and made our stay even better letting us know lots of fab facts and just being bloody lovely.

Slavo then showed us to our room and we dropped our bags off before we are given a grand tour of the hotel and restaurants including all the vital information such as where to find the very important SECRET BAR, what time the bars close, were the spa is situated and where we will be eating for our brunch on Sunday. We were also shown where we could find the James Bandage box of goodies if we need it (I was with my friend this weekend and not the hubby so we decide not to grab this but this may have to be looked at, at a later date) Slavo is a key of information and we asked a few more things and then he left us to enjoy our stay. We were given a fab bottle of Moet Chandon & freshly prepped treats which we dive into.

THE SECRET GARDEN - Is a secret bar outside on the top floor or is it? The bar has an amazing roof that can be pulled over if the weather turns (which is fab for London), it's a slice of elegance and kept a complete secret so please don't tell anyone! In this bar is a secret red telephone and you need to use this to order drinks or cigars which is such a fab idea. We decide to head out for dinner and a couple of drinks at a local rooftop bar and then missed the hotel so much, so we decided to head back. We jumped in a black cab and headed up to the Angler Terrace (rooftop bar ) where we spent a good few hours enjoying the incredible cocktails laughing and giggling about what we used to get up to. My favourite cocktail has to be the 'We are the revolution' which is just perfect and I will definitely be heading back just for one of these. The bar is open Monday to Friday from noon to 11 pm and Saturday from 5 – 11 pm. Ring to make sure you can get in as it does get busy. After the few cocktails, we made our way out into town and that is where I stop my story.

There is a Spa in the hotel which consists of a gym, sauna and steam room and is situated on the first floor. We were supposed to go and try these out, but after having a little adult headache we decided the incredible beds were where we would stay. The comfort of these beds is just to good to refuse and we end up laying in watching Sunday brunch on Channel 4 and chilling which is something I hardly ever get to do. We took the laziness one step further and ordered breakfast in bed. I decided to have pancakes with syrup, a fruit compote and tea whilst my friend orders poached eggs and toast.

We finally manage to pull ourselves from the beds get bathed and ready to meet the chaps. We used everything in the room to beautify ourselves from the inform hairdryer to the fab hair products and you can also get straighteners on request as I did (Savannah must have taken them from my bag) we are finally ready so we make our way down to the bar and feed our adult headaches with Bloody Marys whilst we wait for the men to join us. The drinks do the job and if by magic we are ready for our unlimited brunch!

Brunch -The Chop House The restaurant where the brunch is held is on the first floor and is jammed with amazing looking people not to mention the hot staff. We were seated earlier than we had booked which was great as we were all excited to fill up and get on with the free-flowing drinks. The menu for the brunch is mouth-watering especially when plates of the meat pass you. It was really hard to choose which would be best, I ordered the Bang bang chicken wings to start followed by the Toasted waffle butternut milk chicken, everyone else had the roast beef dinner. All of the food was to die for. I am was so happy with my choice as they were honesty were delicious. We were offered a board of delights for dessert which included Waffles with Bananas and Ice Cream, Sorbets, Vanilla Pannacotta and the best sticky toffee pudding all four of us had ever eaten, we finished the meal with Irish coffee and then made our way to the bar to lay on the sofas and just remember how good the desserts were. Included in the brunch is unlimited mimosas, Prosseco and beelines which the waiters didn't spare us on. All in all, it was a brilliant meal and would def recommend, the restaurant would be perfect for family lunches, celebrations or maybe even a classy hen do.

Thank you,we have fallen in love with the hotel and staff and will almost certainly be back soon
